Positive Experiences

  • It really works. I had several damaged screws on door hinges and other areas. Took them right out. I was amazed how easy it was.
  • Excellent value. Works as advertised. I extracted three different types of broken screws and bolts which I thought were in place forever, one of which was very small. In each instance, I was able to extract them in less than 10 seconds.
  • Used to extract old mangled hex head bolts from a 34 year old Porsche found in a barn. The right tool for the job. Highly recommended.
  • This screw extractor worked great. It was a simple process with the full instructions on the package. I would highly recommend it. It took the rusted screws right out of the tractor

Negative Experiences

  • My husband has been a carpenter for over 35 years, and he said that he can hardly think of a tool that worked as poorly as this one. He followed the directions very carefully, and extractor had absolutely no effect on two different stripped screws. The boring bit cut away metal on both screws, but the tapped bit didn’t do a thing but spin in the holes.
  • It doesn’t work. The one end seems to drill a hole just fine, but the other end doesn’t grab. It just spins and bores the hole smooth making the screw even harder to remove than before. Any tool that makes a problem worse isn’t worth using.
  • This kit would not extract any of the Phillips head screws I was trying to remove. I sent it back.
