Positive Experiences

  • I was a total skeptic when my mom sent me one of these for my 9-month-old daughter, but it totally works. I respectfully disagree with the parents who have said it’s only useful for older children. My daughter laughs at the little voice and she loves to gnaw on the trunk. We have taken the syringe out and let her chew on Ava’s trunk (she is teething like crazy, 5 teeth and counting) and she is always willing to put Ava in her mouth which makes giving her medicine a breeze. We are really happy to have this product in our arsenal.

  • This is a hit with my kids. For those of you that complain that your kids were not impressed- wait and try it again later. Most kids change their minds on what they like and don’t like daily. My 3 and 4 yr old will only take their meds via Ava now.

  • Used it for our 15month old granddaughter and she loved it. It made the experience of giving her some medicine enjoyable .She thought it was fun.

Negative Experiences

  • I saw Ava the elephant on shark tank just like a lot of other people and I was super excited to get it cause it is nearly impossible to give my little girl (18 months old) her medicine. When Ava arrived my girl was instantly in love with it but once I gave her medicine from it she immediately correlated her medicine with Ava’s trunk and would never open her mouth again. Worked the very first time but after that it’s pretty much useless. Thought that was going to happen but Ava had good reviews so I tried it anyway. Wouldn’t recommend it.

  • My daughter is 21 months & has epilepsy. She has to take (2) different types of medicine that she hates & I would try anything to make sure she takes her medicine without a fight so I tried this. Needless to say once I squirted that medicine thru she refused the elephant from now on. So didn’t help me out with my situation.

  • I’m sure this must work for some kids, but my own experience with my kid (20 months) was not positive. He was freaked out even more by this than he already was by your standard medicine droppers.
